Science Fair Day

Westways primary school, 4th march 2020

The Florey Institute participated in an outreach event at a primary school. Where we taught kids the importance of washing hands and how we study the microbiome using microscopes.

I participated in a Hackaton designed to help people with disabilities. Our challenge was to create a cover for a wheelchair that protects all the body of the user.

It was a 2 day event an at the end our team was the winner of the challenge.

The University organises science outreach events and I chose to talk about the revolutionary DNA sequencer MinION from Oxford Nanopore.

"the role of acetyl-phosphate in the pathogenesis of neisseria gonorrhoeae"

University of cambridge, 15th december 2019

I participated as a speaker at the XVII Symposium of Mexican Studies and Students in the UK in the University of Cambridge.

I talked about my doctoral project and the impact it has in our comprehension of the bacteria.
